It is genuinely unsettling how fresh pine branches burn. Like a joke. I've not seen that before, because there's only one, I think, a decorative pine tree in the woods or the edge thereof and they cut some of the branches recently to shape it ... It was the only thing on my pile the other day, that instantly ignited and, like it was toothpicks dipped in gasoline, it didn't even burn, it just went from orange needles curling to carbon, in a blink.
