My head's gonna fall off, I've been working so avidly on the planning and plotting of the Trips draft... I've gotten to the point where I can no longer point the basic towns on my country's map and the General is fed up with me and has gone to bed. I should think I am about 75% done and now need only to look at the map I've marked and invest further into the vacant areas...
We drove over our first course today - and it was lovely! Despite the fact the air was as dense as fog and the photos were virtually monochromatic, it was lovely. Someone also lent me a stand for the camera, so I can take that photo for the cover of Trips I've been meaning to take, and I also came up with the title :)) It probably won't be used, but if it is, it should shine :D
Went to the magistrate's office yesterday, to register the wedding ceremony in the city hall. Poor office lady! :D The general looked so nasty that she actually asked him if he's upset. I explained that this *WAS* his lovey dovey face and she proceeded to flirt with him a little. Nasty old hag :P But we got the date we wanted, regardless of the holiday, and walked out content. I have finally figured out why General is always so upset when I tell him what to do and when and how to do it: with reins in my hands, he doesn't have the view of the entire picture and this freaks him out. I am of the impatient sort, obviously, so if after a thousand days he still isn't ready to deal with some thing, I'll just deal with them for him and he has to follow like a sulky puppy. This is not the role he is at home in :P
P.S. They gave us this booklet with instructions for the wedding and flipping through it, I cannot but think: these poor people?! How can anyone want to fuss and spend so much on something that can so easily be done for a lot less and with a lot more fun? There is like a half-year preparation thingie, what with the dresses and make-up artists and gifts for guests and seating arrangements and so on and so forth.... Aren't people suppose to have a good time, eat and dance and make fun of the groom? And how the hell does someone need to pay for the make-up artist? That part I just don't get. Okay, not everyone is capable of making their own cake, dress, flowers and photography, but hair and make up?? Don't people have sisters or friends? Or mirrors?

Trips and Bride
I've started working on the Trips draft and on the Bridal blog thingie, though I am not yet sure what the bridal thingie format will be - blog or a reportage piece or a column or what...
For the Trips I've come up with about a 100 locations (I need 50) and a color code and tomorrow I have to find things that connect the two and write the sample entry, which I will probably tie together with a local traveler heroine, Alma Karlin.
For the Bridal bit I am already two tips in: the invites and the cloth for the dresses - the two things unavoidably costly. But I've got it nailed down :))
Couple pickies of Drej's piranha...
... Every time we sit down for coffee - every time we sit down at all - it feels like summer Paris. Drej reminds me of one of those closeted bohemians that have secrets nobody would believe anyway, and monsters on a leash, but although you can feel it deep down, by looking at them you just see a pretty lady and a very small sleeping barracuda. :P

Found a cool club that may serve as a cool shoot site, should we manage to get it....:)
And a couple more blinks from the past few days: my kind of payment for a good portrait....
... Contrails over me....
... The bees that escaped and hid under the barn roof.... again...
The General's monster car in the element, in the countryside...
The end of May.... :)
