Feeligh like Messner :D

Climb the first hill in a while. 'Twas pudhy :D

Few years back such nasty winds blew, they pulled out or broke all the trees..

Higher we got, of course, the more snow we had. Legolasing our way over it for a while, sooner or later each missed a step and got stuck.

 Summit :D

Maja, Samo et moi with Alps in the back, bombing the photo..

On the way back, we checked out The Gallows - a monument to all the folk hanged here, guilty of smuggling. Again, these were jolly old times before it became illegal to ill-match punishment to the crime.
 Woods were tranquil, though :)

I mentioned this statue before and how I am aroused by dying heroes...  Can't help but to fantasise about a man with beautiful thighs, fighting his restraints, naked, angry and sweaty and.. Ugh..
Never mind.
This is really darkened shot, because in reality, the snow was so bright I wore my buffy over the eyes. With air this crisp, every speck of dirt in my lens becomes painfully evident...

Sad vs. lonely vs. low self esteem

It is universally known that girls like to talk about boys as much as we secretly wish boys are talking about us. Then you hear all these stories and you can't make heads or tails of ‘em and opinions that go totally against your impression. You know like, if you've ever flown and all your instruments are telling you you're going north, but everything in your mind and heart and body is telling you you're going down? This is how I feel when putting together an opinion of someone.
One I've lately gotten is that people confuse sadness with loneliness. »He is such a sad guy. She is really sad lately. I'm just so sad all the time. I don't have anybody to love me.« That's loneliness, people. Sad is when your dog or brother dies. Sad is when you hear 50 children drowned on a refugee boat. Sad is when you read your life’s work is unoriginal, bland and mediocre. That’s helpless, tired and defeated. That’s deep, deep, dark abyss of grief. Not having anyone to wake up to, that’s lonely. Why do you think anyone buys a sex toy worth a third of a normal paycheck?
As having very many relatives means you’ll be going to very many funerals all the time (fortunately not the case, in both directions), meeting many new people and being interested in their stories means, you’ll be meeting many single people - who hate being single. (Consequently it is remarked they’re very sad..) Okay, so I was single for the first 25 years of my life and then I married and then I married again, this time not a complete emotional fucking retard. But I’ve never ever been lonely. (I mean until the first time I married.) I never hated being alone. I never married because I didn’t want to be single. At the time it just felt like it would be cool to belong to someone.
A lot of times I hear people are so desperate to be in a relationship that the first chance they get, they throw everything on the table too soon… Like, when you haven’t gotten laid in a while and you want to impress someone giving you a chance, you show everything you can do in one go. Like an attention starved puppy. Like it’s considered tasteless to get too happy about finding someone you like. Like that’s an instant overdose of emotional responsibility – when really it’s just being grateful and excited and yourself.. (Of course I often feel I do this exact same thing when I make a new friend, but then again I’ve long ago learnt that if people aren’t able to get my passionate approach to everything all the time, they won’t really be able to adjust and tolerate me ever, so it’s better they grow apart early on.) This explosion of gratitude that ultimately drains the relationship, though, I’m beginning to think these are the people who expect all of their issues to magically disappear when they get involved with another human. (Or, you know, OS.) Their bodies will instantly become better looking, their interests will instantly become more inspirational, their job will become less annoying, their money problems will become  less pressing, their families will feel less like a constant battlefield, they’ll have someone in their corner..
Well, yeah, but … This isn’t a reason why you fall in love. Like Gatsby, building a palace around the assumption Daisy is perfect light. This is the stuff that happens when you are part of a pair, but loneliness is a shadow that can linger a decade into a happy marriage if you don’t know how to be happy on your own. How to face your own freaky issues.  I fucking adore my husband. I am addicted to him. I smoulder him. I call him fifty times a day. I buy him weird thing or, even worse, I make him weird things with my own hands and time. I watch him sleep. I secretly take photographs of him sleeping to look at when he’s away working. I write him letters on paper when he’s in school for the day. I wear his clothes because they smell like him. I arrange his collection of bullets on my shelves, even though he always gets angry. I make him pancakes. I talk to his shoes. “Hey, shoes. He left you behind as well, eh? No worries. He’ll be back soon. And don’t listen to slippers, bragging they’re still warm, because they’re just being aloof.”
Ye. I’m THAT nuts.
But these 9 hours he’s away … I love being alone. I always have. Not just alone, topless in the middle of the desert, a nobody and a God at the same time, pressed between the flatland and the skies like a bug in a book. That’s easy. Going to have coffees with myself, going to the movies by myself, walking by myself, sleeping by myself, learning about a funny story by myself with zero intention of telling it… Countless stories I invented and wrote down and read on my own. Being able to think my boobs are pretty fucking awesome on my own. They feel really good when I am having sex with myself.
Life is an overwhelming buffet of interesting things to admire. All of your head space occupied by desperately seeking Susan all the time... That’s just such a fucking waste of personality. And when you meet someone, sometimes it just feel right to plan hitchhiking to Greenland after an hour of knowing them. To some that’s freaky and unnatural, but … to the likes of us, it’s just refreshingly interesting and original. Unsupervised by friends who know everything. Unrehearsed.
There’s a guy I met lately that I think is cool. Dunno. He strikes me as cool. I want to keep him, because he can read. He lives alone. I like that. I though seem to be the only person to think that, because everybody else tells me he looks really sad. I don’t think he’s sad. I don’t think he’s sad at all. I met him a dozen times by now and I never got that impression his soul’s wailing. Lonely, sure. He probably wouldn’t mind a rest from being reminded of his empty hands every time he sees happy couples around him smooch. I assume. I don’t know. It seems everyone else but me is bothered about being single. Fuck me if I know why people nearing forties are so biologically codependent. But I keep looking at his photos and trying to find deep sadness in his eyes and I just can’t see it. I see stories and thoughts. I want to listen to him talk, because I think he has interesting things to say. I never got the impression he’s on a verge of starting to whine about his miserable, unfulfilled existence because one of the five hundred and seventy eleven fucking chakras in the social standard of regularity is lacking ... Having fade indigo eyes isn't melancholy by association - I know plenty people with huge blue eyes who are plenty perky. I dunno. I just like him. I meet several people I like lately. I can’t understand why they wouldn’t be happy on their own. Like happiness is a burden to be lifted and carried by a multitude.
And then of course people have shitty days, because, let’s face it, when I have a shitty day, I throw all of the things I mentioned above into my husband about how fucking lonely I am for having to go to the movies by myself, throw some other things at him, howl for half an hour, pack my things and move into the bathtub with the dog.
Ye. I’m THAT normal.

A 5 o'clock in teh morning peom (Yes, it's early, fukkid)

If I was a poet and you were a tree
The only thing blowing
Was warm summer breeze...

Lesser known old photos

I love this stuff. I love it how there's 3 pictures out of 79 of Vinnie, he was really posey; I love it how "colour photo" of Hitler is actually painted over later on, I love how some grief comes out in really odd portrayals - like the dog of a dead man. I think of all these terrible images, and they can be pretty fucking terrible, my favourite one is that of a young communist being executed on the street.. He actually seems really brave. Stubborn and proud. I really wouldn't be so friggin' brave. I'd probably be very angry.

Gripping the ropes

Regarding introspection, yesterday was richer for not one but two life lessons. The second being – I am shitload afraid of heights.
Not just, ooo, heights are nasty, I better not test them. No. Really. I really don't like them. On a cellular level. When have you even seen me climb a chair?
An adorable new friend of mine and a tiny and clever friend of hers took me climbing yestereve. I haven't climbed since my first sister-in-law made me and even then I was a lot younger, thinner and actually had muscles other than in my wrist and tongue. But that's okay, because I don't really find it all that difficult to climb per se. Sure, you'd need to be missing a limb to fail that simplest 'orange' route and for all intents and purposes, there is a popular opinion I could climb that one if I really tried. But 15 or 20 feet in the air, so to say, I always, always tensed up. I became, always in the same spot – it's possible because my body believes that is the last safe heights that I would still survive if falling from or something – incredibly aware of how large the room around me was, how terribly high I was and how the tops of people’s heads looked like. (And as you can read in the previous post, I am a faces kind of a girl.) My knees stiffened and my fingers wouldn’t let go. I hugged the wall. I bit into it. And wouldn’t let go. When I had to detach and allow my … dunno what the word is, the person who keeps you on the line… to lower me, I let out such a little bitch sound, people looked at me and laughed. Well, it was actually quite funny and quite a lot of fun. You know what was even more fun? Being on the ground and watching others do this. Three times tried and am looking forward to doing it again… But before I rush into anything against my better judgment (my big butt’s better judgment), the first thing we’ll deal with is my terribly intuitive fear of climbing higher when I am already frightfully high. Getting above the voice in my heart telling me: “I really don’t want to be here. Put me down.”
The realization that this is a matter of a fact came, for the second time yesterday, when I got an unstoppable need to photograph. People climbing, people, their hands, the ropes, the lot. I really wanted to take photos. I really needed to crawl into the camera. Again.
We need to settle this, my camera and I. I’m the boss, Marki. You just happen to be better at seeming calm in difficult situations I keep putting us in.

Shooting Nikolaj

Back from shooting my first artistic male nude. (Which is not a familiar nude, such as a hubby, or a fashion nude, which is not really a nude.. Or a sport nude, which isn’t really all that difficult.)...
Well.
That was interesting.
That much about me being a very calm and collected professional. O.o Good Gods, I almost imploded with shyness. When the man took off all of his clothes, I nigh started to weep. In fact I don’t think I ever looked at him at all with my real eyes. I only dared so though a lens. Am really, really grateful all of these people were my friends, because otherwise we'd have gotten nowhere. Everyone else was totally okay – the guy was chillaxed as can be, my perfect assistant Tinka was as perfect as only she can be – the camera was cooler than I have felt it in a while. It overheated when I was shooting musicians the other day, but on a male nude, it’s as calm as the deep blue seas..
The plan was to expand my love for portrait over the whole body. Just my idiocy to choose a man with a striking face. Control the composition. Steal the shapes away from the light. Fabricate the story… You can do this. You’ve done it a million times with just the face.
Neup.
Oh, I now have A LOT of handsome face portraits. The guy just happens to be butt nekkid somewhere out of the frame. Good job.
The best I managed to push for was the “stolen moments”, very intimate stuff a-la-Lucy Berliner.
First attempt at art and I fucking suck at art. Is artist supposed to feel vivisected by their own production? Well, okay, maybe so. Can’t think straight now, I should crawl home and pass out. Good God, editing these will be a fucking torture. The light was majesty and he was super patient… But between the striking face and the body, devoid of any scars or tattoos… that was just so incredibly difficult.
I really really hope that when people who think I am cool meet me and see I am a hyper-emotional firefly, they consider this to be an even cooler feature. Luckily, nobody reads my blog and will never know how terribly scared I was.
Two big lessons learnt, however.
One: all the penises on this world look exactly the same. And are really not very interesting at all to look at, to be honest. Play with, sure. In the right time and place (and penis.) But to look at… Not really. Sorry, guys. Boobs on girls are much more attractive than balls on guys. (And let's not ever go into the crossing of the two.)
Two: never ever use anything but the 50mm prime to photograph “stolen moments” from now on. Ever. It is a flawless lens. It is the sort of a lens that relates to my view of the world exactly. It’s small and light and it’s sublime in capturing texture. It loves the light and the light appreciates it.

I have to get better at this. I should be the one to calm others down. And yet I cannot think of a better feeling over-burn than being sucked into a photoshoot – and you’re the one holding the time-stopping machine.
Also, I noticed, my memory stores mirror images of places lately. Exact in detail, just mirrored.
And while I get back into my sanity bubble and edit the pickies, here's one of Tinka, forced into a baggie for chocolates, going over Nick Cave lyrics. :D
That man's view has very many roofs :D

Had an intelligent thought!

I'm considering the possibility I generally think well of people, until they fuck up with something dumb they do... But I know a few people whose opinion of folk is generally bad, until it is improved with smart stuff they do.

anyways. A dialogue of the happenstance:

"Why aren't you in costume today?"
"I am in costume today."
"Disguised as what?"
"A human?"

Whatever they are doing in the street (testing helicopters? Drilling for oil? Emptying an anti aircraft machinegun?), it is making liquids ripple in my cups and glasses. I am either getting used to it, thinking it funny, or I am running out of places to relocate. I haven't decided yet. My vibrator is ridiculously ineffective, as if I try to use it, it simply makes my vagina completely still.
The only good thing about this is that yesterday I collected all my work and took it to a friend who, while I draw, read to me from a Khaled Hosseini novel. the world was completely queit and still. Only tremmors came from heavy footsteps of the giant in the story. Few days from now I will be done with drawing and will be able to write again, far from here, creeping back into my home under a cloak of darkness when it’s too grim for the machines to party.
