Making the dresses... It's been such a long day, I feel like a zombie :D But it has been an excellent day most of all. The general crowned it, hitting the spot, when he brought us all ice-cream, when we were already almost brain-dead from the sweatshop labor :))))) The clothes will be FAB, though! Fab!! :P

A conversation with Snufkin or Why I love my toys...
Once upon a time, only the greatest of magicians has the power to see into the crystal ball and spy on future, or, as in some cases, other users of crystal balls (*hkhm*palantir*hkhm*).... Only great sages had wisdoms unimaginable and could name all the stars and all the wise thoughts whispered by the great before us. Only the worst of righteous masters could stop time, capture essences and keep an eternal beauty at an arm's length.
Well, fuck it. Lately I've been doing that every day before I walk my dog.
I love my toys. I love them almost more than anything else. There is no nostalgia, no tranquility, no peace of mind that could rival how I feel amidst my earthly possessions. I spy every morning on the thoughts of other crystal ball users (=read their blogs) over coffee, checks the front line of Wiki articles and so forget what I was looking for in the first place - wise thoughts of sages - and watch the downloaded shows or articles of things larger-than-life, frozen in time. I take photos every day. I record sounds and movement, I even capture some of the scents and fragments that share the viewpoint with the foundations of the Earth. I do that every day, without planning it. If I do not know the name of the star, named by some cool Greek guy that stared at the same one 3000 years before me, all I have to do is flip out an iPad or iPhone or even just my beaten old Ericsson and check. Even without all my books, without my pencils and my papers, with only just what I have in my backpack now, tonight, in this forest side, on this hill slope, under the stars, I could rule the universe if I wanted to. But I chose to lay here and chat with you. I *choose* to be your bedmate in the bed of quietness and stillness and artificial ignorance that feels as good as a thin blanket. I know they are just toys. It is only because the likes of you that I hold human race above all else in my personal esteem. 'Twasn't always so, but it is lately. In the old days I could have stayed the voyeur of other people's greatness until my dying hour, but not today. People first, then toys. On distant third perhaps, a Buddhist sheep shepherd's peace of mind and a good meal.

Although two out of four of the bridesmaids have pulled out (have better things to do) and some that were not asked are mortally insulted, almost all of my family members on both sides will contribute in which any small way they initially agreed. Things are still very much on track. We have gained another cool lady to be his best woman and the roses for the bouquet are coming along nicely :D (My fingertips may take a bit to recover, but the bunch will be lovely!) :P
Yesterday we scouted for a possible place and as it turned out, we did find an almost perfect location. (If it rains, we're fucked.) There is a delightful long roof, newly constructed, over several long tables, a BBQ spot and plenty electrical outlets - and all around are forests and wheat fields and places to stroll if you get bored by the noise... I would have spent an hour rummaging around, looking for mushrooms right then and there, but we had more pressing plans that consisted of ice-coffee-shakes and killing orcs. After my fingers recover, I will make some decorations for the posts and I think if we use one of the rolls of cloths I have for stage set for the tables, the place will look more regal than we at first predicted. With all the salads, cakes and half a roasted boar, it will almost be like a medieval king homage :P

Been a while. I know :l But there have been thunderstorms inside and out and some good news and some bad news and lots and lots of work :D Last night the weather was so.... rabiosa.... that I felt like the God was weeping for General's bachelordom. :)) We went to talk to his relatives about the wedding and it has to be said about his relatives: when they are in a good mood, they feed their guests way too much :D
The rain has not subsided and needing to take the photo of the lead character in my trail article for Trips, I opted for simply taking it IN the rain. Without someone to hold a canape over me, logistics were quite interesting. Although Mark is made of titanium and designed to withstand certain conditions, I am not dense enough to take it swimming. So with the tripod in one hand, the umbrella in the other and a raincoat over the bag, I went to make a spot in front of the statue and wait for the trains to warrive so that the people would spill around the iron maiden. I quite liked the results - I hope the editors like them, too - and here's a gloomier version of it...
Making the dresses is also going lovely and we'll make do with what food we have, I just need to make a plan for it...
I cannot help but think that General LIKES to rescue me... that he likes to see me take on projects and then fail to entirely handle them and then he would come in and save the day... I used to think he would prefer if I pushed and shoved until I got things done, but now I think it makes him more happy for me to appear quite feminine and allow him to prove himself the knight. Dunno, I think that's quite romantic. Letting the man believe he's always right is half the happiness of a marriage :P Also, the doctors gave us good news and instructed us to have as much sex as possible over the summer. That is good news if you ask me :P

Not much point in doing something if you're not going to be having fun, right?
Unless you're climbing Everest or something. That's not much fun, but it does make a lot of sense to some people. Anyhoo. Slightly disappointed that some are dropping out of my wedding plans when it's time to be graceful, but if I let that bring me down, I am no better than all the whiny losers that always take the opportunity to fuss and fight - that I think so little of. I set to pull something crazy and I'm well on my was to learn how to make the most of it - so I may as well have a good time. And besides - we spent yesterday sewing the dresses. A mess that it was, it was also amazing. Who would have thought that a seamstress/couture fashion designer/masochist lies in all of us!! (The last bit belongs to how many times I managed to prick myself while making flowers :P) Even the General tried to flee at some point but was pulled back by the gravity of the project :D I'll post more pickies, but I have an errand to run. For now, some of the pickies for the 'test run' trip we did to Svetina the other day. The Trips project is going excellent as well, I just hope the people in the headquarters aren't getting fidgety already. Need a couple more days to make it perfection :))
Helps to listen to Shakira. :p Doesn't help to watch the latest Killing. That shit's fucking depressing.
