There is this farm that i ride by sometimes, with a train, that I really like. In fact if I was a bit braver and believed this would be gracious on the people, I would write to the owners and ask if I may get it's story. It's real easy to be the conqueror of the world when it comes to art, but journalism is the most social of it's forms and I am not quite ready yet.
I first noticed it, because the nearest station is called "The Long Mountain". The area is reasonably farmless, at times, at least from what the train can see, there's no people inhabiting the slopes at all. They are probably all on the sunnier side. Then at some point few minutes in, the hills open a little and in this triangular valley, nearly a gorge, with a small chapel marking the crossroads, this magnificent old farm stands. The buildings are far larger than those of a common stead. This is an overwhelming stature of a family's business. I have no idea where their money comes from. I don't even know if the industry that fed them still exists. I just know I wouldn't mind knowing some more. It's not the sort of a place I would wish to own as it's far too stressful to keep up with it's maintenance, but to see it up close sometimes, that would perhaps be quite curious.

Delights :)

Wishlist 2011

Can't hurt to wish :P

Stuff I'd like to have:
- Fissshy pants
- Nissan Pathfinder
- A good wrist watch (though I have seen some that you can clip onto your gear or belt also), preferably one that tells time, temperature, GPS location, has a compass, altitude meter, maybe even a small disco light show... Joke.)
- A fancy tent - something I will be able to use comfortably for the next fifteen years all over the planet.
- A Mac laptop. Actually, by now, should they invent an iPod, iPhone and iBook all in one, I'd like to have that.
- A studio in my home. With lots of lamps. And some more lamps.
- New kitchen. Namely a kitchen counter. For cakes.

- A wedding ring
- Triplets

Things I'd like to see:
- Nordcapp
- Four of my books out in the world. It's taking too damn fucking long...
- And exhibition of my latest photo stuff... that hasn't been even created yet, but let's think ahead
- The dog pass doggie school with decent grades
- Myself with long hair :)p

I keep think I should plot the Ramses interview as if there was a lawyer present. Ask him less of the leading questions, less in the manner of 'You did this and this - any regrets?' and more in the sort of giving him an opportunity of answering happy answers... but instead he chooses to reveal regret....
.... Okay. All over again we go. Again.

:P

Have spent three days writing up the 'Egyptian adventure' - with the old pharaoh interview in the end. I believe it's my best short story yet, but it's nowhere near readable. I know this, because I found some fifteen years old stories and I remember I had this exact feeling writing them then and they're terrible. But it feels good to dive into the research again. This is what dDaniel and I were really good at once. It's an excellent time we live in. All afternoon there have been 'latest space discoveries' on the TV - it's amazing, the stuff they've been able to point out lately. I think we are two shakes of a lamb's tail away from finding life on other planets - we just can't get to it yet. Plus it's all the world needs right now: more ugly and enigmatic deep sea lifeforms with their own street illumination :p
The lunch at the parents' house has been painful again - not so much psychologically but on out stomachs. Gods, but adults sure are the way to get fat... Beforehand, and I went to doggie school and the trainer lady pointed out the bits we've been failing. She said that dogs like these, the Beagles, are fully fit to survive anywhere, so as soon as they discover they are safe, running away, they are (mentally)  gone for good. I need to maintain the interest of my mutt as the only source of food, bed and safety. She must never grasp how fun life is when she's out of my reach.
Couple of new shows have started and couple of new good movies are out, though I haven't seen much of the good new stuff lately. I've seen the first episode of the second season of V (picks up right where it left off), first fifteen minutes of True Grit (kind of great, really) and the teaser for Ice Age 4. :)) Supposedly 127 hrs isn't entirely bad, though it does sound awfully shocky and I don't deal in shocky, while the movie theatres have hit such a dry season, the General and I can't go to the shows even if we wanted to. Weather's been dense with southern wind and warmth, though. We actually went for a lenghtly evening stroll yesterday. It was enchanting. I hadn't touched the camera a single time.

I missed a train by a minute today (though that coffee was worth it) and got stuck in the waiting lounge. As result, I wrote a praise to all the waiting lounges of my life. (I'd post it, but it's in Slovenian - part of the 'stort stories' project...) I've come to realize how very much I enjoy the damn things. Transit places are so charged to me :)

On a related subject, I've joined the grateful ranks of the Lunette cup users. Those who know what it is, will agree - once you've tried it, there's no going back. I've been using it for three days and it's miles away from what I've been used to. No ore damn tampons, ever agian. No more itchy cunnie after a week of pads. The flora of my womanhood shall remain preserved for ever on!...Mwuahahahaha!.... Akhem. There had been positive reviews and recommendations from trusted friends, but the line that tipped the scale from sceptic to intrigued for me was from one of the users - that this product's been around for quite a while and very effectively, but the corporations making millions on tampons and maxi pads have sabotaged it's reputation for decades. Anything hated by large corporations is worth a try. As it turns out, it's a life-long problems solved in the simplest of ways. I could get washed ashore a deserted island and never again have to worry about the damn terms.

Then I nearly missed my home station, reading the Larsson book. I've got to practice on my reality/fiction interaction. :p  Also, I've decided to become an interview journalist.

Found an old pickie of me in summer. Awwww...  Miss summer :(

Nude as the art form, unravelled

Ivory Flame posted some new stuff and I followed some of her links to some of her friends' blog sites. I am nowhere near comprehending the beauty of nude as an art form - for the most part, I find it quite boring and done to death - but of course I am constantly proven wrong by fellow great photographers. Example:

Pretty amazing takes on the subject, isn't it? I especially love the second one, the one of Holly's elbow: there's nothing nude about it and yet it's a nude (and she has freckles on her elbows :D How cool is that!) Oddly enough, I cannot find much liking for a model that doesn't also have a mild face. The women with flawless bodies, but mean, aloof, cold faces totally undo it for me. I am such a sucker for the soul :P
Soon, though, soon I will see the sun again and feel warm and adventurous and outdoorsy and I will take tons of pretty pretty pickies. Winter is DEFINITELY a writer's forte. And thanks to Drey, I am almost done with my selection. I'm thinking... three, four stories more and we'll be there? That a couple of week's doing.
