Numbers are not my strong suit. I nearly burnt my brain last night, late, when General was caressing my hair watching TV and I was solving harder and harder sudoku... I got pretty far, but I was in a sort of trance. Like a friggin' Dervish. O.o

Concert of the music school in Žalec

Some pickies... I enjoy concerts so much :D There's the music, obviously, but there's also so many shapes that fall down back into some excellent harmony.

My infamous mug :D
Proportions are, well, bucket-wise :D

Drej's earrings (she is far better with detailed work then I am :D)

And lovely evenings afterwards :)

Coffees with friends

There has been a lot of stuff going on lately. The most unpredictable and time consuming (not to mention, shock, dread and awe) has been a dance with dragons – I mean media – regarding the book launch lately. Between running around and scheduling literary events and giving interviews for newspapers and radio, I am either making plans for more or coordinating them with people who are better at this than I am. And also, of course, sometimes you get to deal with lovely, fun people and sometimes there’s no way to avoid fucking assholes.
My darling brother was going on about addictions over lunch yesterday – the kind of conversation that makes my eye start twitching. He is a grand fan of rationalizing stage of said, and would accuse me of being an addict of drawing and writing, considering I have been doing that almost always all my life. I explained that’s not an addiction, it’s called a job and because I have done that often, I can now say I have had a good training. An addiction is when you are going crazy and utterly destructively irrational just to get to the next fix. I don’t hardly drop into a delirium frenzy when I can’t get my hands on a book for a day… When he failed to get an upper hand on the discussion, he went on that people are constantly addicted to several things, such as air, food and sleeping… And this was a lunch event even without my sister. I mean, Geez Louise…
But of course, bar addictions (and spouses don’t count, in case you were going to go there), there are things I am wonderfully fond of and need to entertain them in order to keep fairly sane. Such a thing is, for instance, coffees with friends.
I’ve had a cool one few days ago, we sat down in mixed company and just chatted the evening away. It was wonderfully nippy and the conversations just wouldn’t run out until they threw us out of the place by discreetly offering us sleeping bags :))) The most fun talk was with a boy about being a butt or a chest person (we watched good looking people strut by and mock-ogled them, both being just bisexual enough to have the right to do so :)) As I realize, I am a lot more a chest person. On both genders, a shapely bust appeals to me. Perhaps because I like to hug and listen to a loved one’s heartbeat. General’s chest is so massive I can literally climb onto it with my entire body. His heart thumps like a battleship engine.
Another interesting dialogue with another coffee drinker/biker buddy was about being infinitely young and infinitely rich. What would we do with all that time and all that money? Buy islands for our spouses as dumb vampires do? In Canada you can do that fairly easily, as they have more islands than land. But okay. I suppose the world would not be enough, if I was like that. I would build an institute so fierce and gave scholarships and research labs to geniuses so hard, we would invent space travel a century sooner.
I mean, not just in my books :P

Ten reasons to see Avengers – heavy spoiler alert

1.    I would like Joss Whedon even if he directed Twilight (okay, maybe not Twilight), but he takes a very tricky material and makes it into an excellent two hour switch-your-brain-off popcorn aplenty event. He makes the most of his ensemble cast, portraying each of the individual characters to perfection, giving them all plenty face-time and still keeping an hour and a half for heavy duty explosions and fast-paced fights (and occasional unnecessary speech.).
2.      Very beautiful lead actress. Well, obviously all men and women in this film are very attractive, but I am not a fan of Paltrow whereas the lady playing Hill (some Smoulders) looks more like a model than an actress and I am not a fan of models being in movies either. On the other hand, Johansson is so very beautiful, it’s hard to keep focus on the dialogue. The threat Loki gives her, that he will have her raped to death by Hawkeye is super unpleasant.
3.     Some very, very hot men. Or cold, however you wanna see it. Of all the heroes, Hawkeye is my favourite, as he seems to keep very low profile and is good with a bow (can relate). No gay costumes or gadgets there. The main reason I went to see it though, of course, was Loki. I like the face (and the hair was so cool in this one, so ridiculously villain with fashion issues…) of Tom Hiddleston so much, I could stare at a spy cam of him being in that glass cell for days. When he snarls, when he smiles, when he raves, when he looks like he’s about to French-kiss his brother, he is perfect. I cannot imagine Loki looking any other way – those cold watery eyes, the thin lips of an uncomfortably large mouth (toooo many teeth O.o), slightly less anorexic than he had to be in Thor and just so much of a sickly, last-in-line-for-the-throne prince, he gives Joffrey a run for his money.
And of course the constant, nasty inferiority complex he oozes in his every move and manner: whereas Thor actually is an Asgardian, Loki is not at all – his father Farbauti may have been an ice giant, but Loki’s mum Laufey was human. He is the least godly of Norse gods. Although in legend his kids are kind of interesting. Not many Gods these days fuck wolves.
4.      The whole role of Hulk :D
Even as Dr. Banner, he is great. Mark Ruffalo plays him even better than Eric Bana. I loved the line: “That is my secret, Cap. - I am always angry.”
And then of course when he beats everyone who gives him five minutes of their time: even friends. When he and Thor land together after mission accomplished, he punches him through the building just because.
And when of course LOKI starts to spit and hiss like an angry kitten about his superiority, you have to see to understand why that scene nearly made me pee myself. That is such a fucking excellent scene! General warned me my precious Loki will get bitchsmacked in this film and I replied I certainly hope so – I paid good money to see it. Though I wasn’t expecting THAt :D Ragdoll! :D
5.      The machines. The sky fortress was lovely, but the evil alien fishy thingies were better :D And of course how Hulk handles them was also great.
6.      Agent Coulson. Very sad :( Though he is so funny when he waits for Natasha to pick up the phone again…
7.      The lines:   Bruce: … That guy’s brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him.
Thor: I care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother!
Natasha: He killed eighty people in two days.
                        Thor: (admittedly) He is adopted.
8.     Stuff unsaid: When Capt. America gives Nick Fury back the ten bucks. When cops turn and start following America’s previously (before he smacked several baddies into pieces) instructions…
9.    Some of very many Stark lines :) “Your mother wants her drapes back…” and the likes. Ouch.
10.  The issue of resolve. (/Conviction.) I am very fond of the issues of resolve.

Been a good day. I even saw a golden imago. And had ice-cream, twice. Home now and about to crawl under the General, who is naked in the bed, sleeping warmly, breathing peacefully and deeply. I can pretend all is alright in the world..

I suppose the good side of having marital fights is, after the storm clouds clear, the sky is so very beautiful. An easy way would be to just kiss and make-up, but in my world things are never that simple. I have, though, stopped talking for two days and it wasn't quite the same. I talk a lot. I say many things. Often to make the time pass quicker. And I have this freaky tendency to jump up, run across the room and steal a snog from my hubbie. So when I don't, nobody does. And when I don't make lunch packaged for night shifts, nobody does. When I don't download fun movies for waiting rooms, nobody does. Without me, my world is kind of empty :/ ;) .P

Very often, when I am sad the most, be it over work, family or whatever, General takes me out for a walk. We just kind of walk in silence and either mock the dog or he mocks the way I walk or something, until I start to laugh again. He painted my finger and toenails with stupid smiley faces in violet or green - more Picasso than DaVinci and whenever I would start to weep, he would try to hold my left thumb or my right toe thumb in front of me, to indicate he's switching on the happy (the other two were grumpy). I was fairly cheered up after an hour of it all. And the sky was outstanding - we actually though a tornado is going to form, as the green grinding machine of huge dark grey chunks began to pump on themselves and a small fog began to protrude downwards with a manic orange sunset shooting razor beams from underneath. I doubt it would have been more than a warm F1, as the ground here is not flat enough to sport a football field, yet alone a twister, but it still made me wish I had a camera. The General broke the silence then, asking how far I want to go, as it might rain and I said, naa, it won't rain, the storm is going to pass us... Switch to next frame: we ran towards the library passage, but it was no use, we were soaked in under a minute. So we just kept running through puddles in flip flops, with a miserable dog in tow. It would have been very romantic, if there was not for a hailstorm - and even hail the size of corn kernels stings like a bitch! I always thought that's just something people say, but that shit really hurts! We were laughing, because we were so amazed, but it still felt like we were being chased by bees, pinched by pissed-off pixies, because we didn't have anything to shield ourselves with, except the dog, who is rather small, especially if you don't count the ears. She probably hated every human weird tendency to stroll in hailstorms at the moment, but at least she could just lick her coat dry whereas we had to strip and snuggle ;)))))))

Crazy fucking humans and their crazy fucking hailstorm strolls..

Weeping my brain out

The funny thing is, when I cry very hard, my legs start to cramp like crazy. Like, if I cry for hours, even if I take a nap in the middle, my head is pounding (if I scream during I get a bonus acid reflux as well, that doesn't subside for ages), my cheeks are burnt, my eyes are sore - the whole catalogue - but the amazing bit is my legs go nuts with rheumatism. They feel like I stood in ice water for an hour and then sat on my butt for a week...
I think God invented menstruation so that once a month women could cry lakes about all the stuff that's happened in the previous three and a half weeks: parents, finances, dead puppies, lovers' quarrels, that one sex that wasn't quite as timely as the others and it made me snappy, all the food I shouldn't have eaten, work anxiety, too hard a change in weather...
And then, after it's done, you know you have 7 days of clear skies ahead of you. Super trooper.
